Yep youre right LL, its a later model then the 700/900 series...{similar body style.}
Oz im not really Lol, back in the late eighties I bought a very nice Volvo 75 DL wagon for only 2 grand with the intentions of turning it over, knew nothing about them but knew i could make a quid out of it....after tidying it up i couldnt part with it:8} thought they were great cars. Took me 3 months to advertise it..sold it to the first to see.
Some years back i needed to sell my XE falcon [piece of carp was falling apart, i'll never touch another one] and was looking for another cheapie...daily driver..and remembered the old wagon.
Many factors on why 240s are so cheap, ive become a 240 expert:-D and have made it affordable for me.
My true passion are muscle cars [sport/performance] i would keep the Volvo for a shopping trolly.. if i obtained one.
Hawk, who are you talking to?

one of mine was deffo not an sr....unreal....geeze theyre good.
anyway, nice if holden could make the Volt affordable, twice the asking price to what they are in america..that thing packs a punch too..
hawk, you say you get 8.0ltr per 100k fuel consumption, i do find that hard to believe with such a heavy car. whats the average fuel consumption figures for your car, what year is it [or year was it?
mine on average is 9'0ltr per 100K

Not sure why anyone would have hit you, I didnt see anything worthy, not that I look.
9.8 average, I think its the Tickford touch that does it, I believe they were hand build, Balanced and blue printed with high silicone pistons and ultra thin rings and just a touch lower power than the V8 of the time
Look under engine, all the number are there

Tickford must have refined those 6s more then what i thought.
It must use a lot more fuel tho if you hoon it around the city {or casual driving}?
Are you hoping for a write off? suppose you couldnt get that kind of money back on a normal re-sale.

Thats the strange thing the damage is already at $4680.00 and then the front end is also damaged and thats extra because they dont know what needs replacing.
I know the lower control arm is bent as the wheel has moved 30 mm and the stub axle is bent and as it mainly hit the upper section of wheel the upper control arm will also be bent.
I would have been happy for them to write it off as I was looking to upgrade it anyway as the Ks are getting a bit high now.
Strange how they work, they wrote of the commy that hit me

possibly boils down to whats the market value of your car is or what the sum insured figure is [pay out figure]...& what they could possible get for the wreck as is.
they'd handle it best that suits them...if the balance works out cheaper then they'd fix it.
