i would negotiate with them for a pay out figure price if you want it written off, and say even though it might be fixed like new..im fussy.. and it wouldnt feel the same!

I am going the other parties insurance as a third party claim so I don't have a lot of say in it.
But as a said i would have been happy with a payout and just gone and picked up a BF mk2 for 8 or 9k plenty of them around with only 100,000k and then done my towing mods.
The tow mods maybe why they are fixing it, reversing camera, reverse sensors, wired for electric trailer bakes and charging and a CAT back exhaust upgrade and HD tow bar and then all the extra bits inside.
any way have a fun night I am going out now

Actually Hawkie, you may have a lot more say in things being a third party claim, than you would using your own insurer.
Ins co backed down very smartly from their list of demands with my ute, and sent out a cheque next day once I quoted parts of this
http://www.lawhandbook.sa.gov.au/ch01s04s04s03.php
In particular - 2, 7 and 9
They might quote it's their policy to do this, that and everything else, but in the end, you are not their client, you have not signed a contract to their policies and conditions, and common law over-rides any of their in house policies or procedures.

Hiya carl ! Where ya been?
Haven't seen you around for ages......or have I been in the wrong threads?
How are those gorgeous puddy cats (any more scratching at the door LOL)
My car says.......I need a 4wd for rough/dirt roads/pot holes/flooding and it means I can see more because it's big and high......although I would love a smaller 4wd and might get a new to me one some time this year, just don't know what's good value for under $10,000 so I have to do some homework first.....and wait until all the flood affected ones are long gone.

shouldnt matter which insurance company is liable.
i would consider to retain the wreck for all the modifications youve done and transfer them over to your next car seeings as youre looking at another falcon, use whatever else you can from the wreck, common maintenance bits [tyres etc....sell the rest.
what would a wreck like that be worth in that condition or more importantly [for a cheaper figure] what would a wrecker pay? just to get a value price. Ask for the rest of the balance from the insurer.
{everythings negotiable!!

besides, dont you make a claim through your insurer first then your insurer makes a claim through the other parties insurer who was at fault? arent you really dealing with your insurer anyway..isnt that how it works?

I guess mine would be saying about now 'wash me I'm dirty' I left it out last night in the hope it would rain but of the less than 10 minutes worth we got it had to be dirty rain as it shows on the car today.
The lowest I've got was 4.8 in the 3 but I didn't manage to capture it but that was on the freeway.
These two I took when I was getting between 5.4 to 5.5 on average.
