In hell, you're not forced to love this particular God and praise and bow down to her and suck up to her for all eternity? And you won't be sent back to Earth to be tortured and killed to forgive her mistakes?
You'll be in the company of Rodney Dangerfield, John Lennon, Mother Teresa, Raefael Nadal, Angelina Jolie, Mark Twain, Brad PItt etc drinking and eating anything you like and partying like it's 1999.
Would you want to go to hell?

Agree with Trish. You do not have to make yourself believe. You just do. Faith is a gift. I do not follow religion (meaning "to bind") at all. I am at peace 🙂
Faith is dangerous. Faith is the reason good people fly planes into buildings. Faith gives good people reason to strap a bomb to themselves or kill abortion doctors. They believe they're doing the work of the lord without a shed of evidence. That's faith.
Amen

Yes Bob, some people do have misguided Faith. They make up their own rules. The examples you put forward...there is no support for it in the Koran. Islam is (on the most part) a peaceful Religion / Belief System. It is the fanatics that act in the name of Religion.
Faith isn't dangerous. The twists that people place on it is what is dangerous.
Christianity / Islam / Buddism etc etc are not religions. They are belief systems. The problems occur when Religion is created and acted upon.

Nothing good comes from organising humans in groups.
When someone gets robbed or assaulted infront of a crowd there seems to be something that makes people in a crowd from stepping in.
It only takes a few bad seeds to get themsleves into a position of power and ruin the whole thing.
In the case of religions, its the same as an assault infront of a crowd, people are less likely to stand up and say what is happening is wrong.
Have your faith, share it if you like with the like minded.
Do not try and enforce it on others, because others will start to loose that basic repect we have for all religion.
God may or may not be real, regardless, doing the right thing is what he or she would want any follower to do.

That is the great mistake many people / religions make...forcing their beliefs on others. I am happy to answer questions about my beliefs, but I don't profess to have all the answers or know everything. That is why it is called Faith.
The basis of Christianity is to love your fellow man. That means show respect and do no harm. Help where you can and don't stand by and merely watch an injustice. Do what you can to set it right.

There is support in the Koran if you consider non-muslims infidels. Islam is a religion of violence in certain cases. Read the Koran, it does indicate for killing in particular cases. BTW you can use the bible to justify killing also.
You're contradicting yourself. You say people put twists on it. They put a twist because they have faith it's what God wants. Faith is believing you have the backing of God and believing you're going to Heaven by doing GOd's work. This is not based on evidence but faith.
Faith by definition is believing something without evidence. It prevents people from thinking for themselves and looking at the world rationally if you just have faith.
If I have faith that Black people are evil and should be killed based on an ancient document proposed to be written by God. You would obviously want to do what God wants. It's faith that's responsible for this belief. Without faith you can reason that it's wrong to hurt people regardless of race.
"Ethical people would do what is right, no matter what they're told, Religious people would do what they're told, regardless of what is right"

My Faith is based on the New Testament and Jesus Christ's Teachings / Ministry. Written word not what I concoct in my mind.

And Jesus taught us to "Love one another as I have loved you". Not based on colour, creed, or otherwise.
