David, the messages from the Government you are hearing are not the messages I am hearing. Maybe we are hearing the messages we want to hear and not hearing the messages we don't want to hear. In a way, doesn't it sometimes narrow down to whether the person is for or against the party in power.

isnt it amazing all the lib voters who jejoiced at the marshal govt winning the last election because labor was the high taxing debt createing buffoons of govt.
now the lebs would lower taxes and reduce wastage blah blah blah
cept they havent, they have raised almost every tax/levy on the books
they have increased spending on just about everything they were supposed to reduce spending on
the hospitals are even worse.
they are talking about privatising things again
the list goes on n on.
but do you hear anything from the lib faithful?
not a peep
the only promise they kept was reducing the emergency service levy but took that money right back and more by raising things like the waste managment levy

Sounds like political spin to me.
South Australian Liberal government promised to return eight 100 k zones to 110 k.
Hasn't been done.
Just a vote winning lie as far as I'm concerned.
Maybe it's one of those Liberal non core promises.
Can't be difficult.
Just change some signs.
Unless government for all is just words and no action.
I don't live in South Australia so I don't know all the promises that haven't been kept but every time I drive to Adelaide I have a good laugh at the fact that one promise that is so easy to do hasn't been done
The reason the previous Labor government gave for reducing the speed limits was that the roads where no longer safe to travel on at highway speed. ( Due to Labor not spending any money on maintaining roads outside of the metropolitan area. ) To be fair, there are sections of some of those roads that are pretty neglected and frankly down right dangerous. I think it will take a bit more than a change of road signs to bring sections of those roads back to the standard they where 20 years ago.

I suspect the reason Liberal voters are not bagging the current S.A government for increasing state charges is because they understand what a mess Labor left the state in. Labor cut so deeply into essential services such as social housing, road maintenance and hospital bed closures that it is going to take A LOT of money to try to restore services to a reasonably functional level.
