I once had a type with alligator clips that clipped to the square dashboard of a 1980s camry. You clipped it to the square side of the dashboard and I happened to have a cup holder in the centre aircon vents and it sat perfectly in the cup holder and directed wind straight between the ears of the passenger and driver.

You put an esky where the passenger's feet usually go and then you clip the fan to it.
If it is a flimsy alligator clip you can make sure the esky is the same height as the seat to sit on so it doesnt do a backflip.

Im talking about in old cars or for an emergency when you wont get the air con fixed for a week.
