What's your passion?

Or passions? I love history. Don't care who's, just love it. My other is interacting with young ones. So fresh and open to all views.

Oh, and no politics thanks. I think we've all had a gutfull. ๐Ÿ™‚

Re: What's your passion?

Reading. Books.

The last cpl years it's been Crime fiction.

Before that it was all the English classics.

Before that it was Sci-fi and Fantasy, and Horror.

Re: What's your passion?

I love music, but I am slowly going deaf and hate my hearing aids.

My passion is history, ancient history. (I should have become an Archaeologist. Would be in seventh heaven.) A lovely friend gave me a talking book and Hubby bought me some good headphones, so I can listen to the books.

I also love writing, but slowly going blind, so my darling hubby converted a TV to be my monitor, and at the moment I am writing my life story.

I am passionat about a lot of things and would love to be able to make the world a better place to live in.

Re: What's your passion?

I'm really into history too. I wonder if you have read Hilary Mantel's books Wolf Hall and Bring Up The Bodies?  I think you'd enjoy them. They are historical fiction rather than straight history but they are well written, thought -provoking and, as far as I can trell, fataithful to the period and events around which they were written. They sent me scurrying back to my history books to re-evaluate quite a lot of what I was taught in my convent boarding school about the Reformation and the "saintliness" of Sir Thomas More

No, She-ele, I have not read those books. Will see if I can get them from the Library in Atherton when we go up for the winter. I think I can even get the reference books to compare.

Thanks for the titles. It will be lovely to sit on the verandah with a cuppa and a good book.

Thank you youcandoit.

The difference may be because I am the oldest here to post. My past life has been very colourful with all sorts of shades. Growing up in Europe during WWII and my journey until I came to Australia in 1958 left deep impressions and convictions about what is important in life.

I am not the only one, but perhaps I am more inclined to talk about life the way I see it.
