I think I'm more deprived.   I have an evaporative cooler on the roof (no air con for me)

Can't set a temperature on that one.

And no bleedin' grapes to be seen!  Let alone pool boys to peel 'em for me

Does it cool the house down my much?.......

Santa might bring you a pool boy for Christmas.........Woman Very Happy

evap air-cond - On! bin quite warm around here

i usually have the motor speed set in second gear with the energy saver on

works well

the motor bearings is on its way though making a humming noise - might source a second handy motor for it , not that the noise bothers me that much, ge tin before it packs up completely

i'd like to get a 7.5 kw split system as well for those very hot humid days, i dunno i can live with the evap its better then having nothing at all, and dunno how long  iwant to live here. property developers could take an interest at any time.

If it gets to 45 outside,  it will keep it down to about 26-28 so that's bearable.

But humidity can be a killer in Melbourne.

I have a larger than I need unit with 6 rooms vented.  They gave me a larger unit cos

they mucked me about.  Better unit for compensation.  Laughing. Wouldn't be without

it.   Running costs are for the fan only - about 3c an hour. Very economical. But

initial cost was about $3000

In 45 degree heat, I don't think an aircon could do much better.....and that's a lot cheaper to run.....

I've been thinking too......not sure if you should be naughty or nice for santa to bring you a pool boy for Christmas.....Woman Wink
