What will you do with your $750?

about a month ago i bought a small split system air conditioner from 'Kogan' (an online shoping site)

normally not an item i would buy as the size if bought locally would be about $700 for just the unit

but kogan had an end of summer sale unit at $430.

then they had a free delivery sale too on the airconditioner

then they sent me a 'get $20 off' promotion

bringing the price down to $410 delivered.

so i got one.

i have been planning to save up to have it installed in a few months.

i will now spend the $750 on the install

The coronavirus supplement won’t begin until 27 April.

The first household payment won’t happen until April and the second until July.

Pensioners won’t see a boost until May. Employers won’t get one until 28 April.

We all agree people need immediate support.

pensioners will get the first $750 on april 1st or thereabouts

the Govt. have delayed all these payments till the end of April or May as they're trying to avoid a negative June quarter. I'm sure they called that $750 payment "immediate" when they announced it....  but it's not.... the centrelink queues are long already..  people need assistance now

yes , the line was sure long , all nine of us , standing on our allocated taped X

I'd like to say a BIG THANK YOU TO CHINA for bringing this on.

I wonder whether the supermarkets will crank up the prices - produce at the farmgate has not crashed.

Will anyone be watching out for that

Not here they haven't. I went to Woolies late this afternoon to get some milk. A quick glance up the rows I walked past revealed no toilet paper, rice, pasta and very little flour.

Same here,no eggs, pasta, rice, mince, frozen veg and the only toilet paper was their home brand 10 pack at an

over priced $8.90 per pack which some were desperate enough to buy but most it was still there hours later.

The "softness" of those is in it's own category.shok.gif

Unlike yesterday, at lunchtime my local Woolies had some meat and chicken, some frozen food and some potatoes. But that was 2 hours earlier than yesterday.

Still no TP or eggs. Not much Coke, which drives my metabolism.
