To me the fear of drowning might stop me, you would have to be extremely desperate wouldn't you?

This document will tell you that up to 60% of refugees are still on the dole after 5 years.
I haven't read your link, but I have seen other figures which state that they "receive Centrelink benefits". Do you realise that this term includes health care cards, education allowances, baby bonus, etc, which they would get if they were working, and which most other Australians receive. It does not necessarily mean only unemployment benefits.
Yes it does, read it. And I made an error, its after 4 years, still a long time to be on benefits.
"As outlined in chart 11 earlier, after 4 years living in Australia, around 40% of Humanitarian entrants have a job of some
type."
The way I read it, that means around 60% do not have 'a job of some type.'

Thanks, I will read it later. Even so, I think 40% working is very good, given that a lot of home growns never work, and given the culture and language differences.. Some of those not working will be women with young children. Somewhere there will be a comprehensive breakdown of the figures.

You just wont have it, will you? Its there in black and white and you keep making excuses. 40% working very good? You have got to be kidding. What would you say if the general unemployment rate was 60%, would that be very good too?

How many of them are women with young children?
What is the unemployment rate in Australia if you factor in women with young children?
I thiink you might be surprised.

Charming.
How many of the 60% of refugees are women with young children who are not looking for work? You say you have the facts.

How long would any of us take to get work if we landed in Iraq, or anywhere that the refugees are from.?
Like them, we would not be allowed to work for a period of time.

Hello, everyone.
This thread is getting a little heated and interpersonal.
Could we please bring the discussion back to a less heated and interpersonal state?.
Thanks!
