What would you do? Bikers vs SUV

http://edition.cnn.com/2013/09/30/us/new-york-bikers-road-rage-video/

The New York City Police Department said a man driving a Range Rover with his wife and 2-year-old daughter inside Sunday struck a motorcyclist on Manhattan's West Side Highway, breaking his leg.

The SUV driver pulled over, and the bikers surrounded his vehicle, hitting it and spiking the tires, police said. The driver pulled away, hitting three more bikers in the process, police said.

Should the driver in the SUV be charged?

What do you think of bikers?

What would you have done if you were the driver in the SUV?

From jimmehs hearsay story, I think the SUV driver should have moderated his actions and just sworn under his breath and waited.

and thats what 99.9% of people would have done and it would have all been over in a minute and every one would have been on their way.

From what Jimmeh has said the guy is lucky they were only week end bike riders and not gang bikies, if he had done that to a bikie gang the chances he wouldnt have gone to a hospital are exstramly high

I'm glad you clarified your comment about Bloomberg because I was puzzling over where that fitted in. As he didn't however, does that justify the bikers grouping and blocking traffic in the first place?

No they shouldn't be blocking traffic, but if I come to an entrance blocked by any group so the rest of their group can stick together...I'd wait. Especially with a wife and kid on board.

Personally I'd find seeing a hundred or so bikers cruising by a bit interesting. Even though they weren't "bikers". Being a biker is a life stlye....these guys only owned bikes (and not very good ones either).

And what I said IS hearsay. Now that lawyers are involved it could take a while to learn what really happened.

I know that I am being unreasonable and these are just facts of life but it boils my blood that might is right and you have to bow down to bikers and women can't walk safely at night and all the other things that we do because of the psychopaths out there.

You would be far safer walking at night or any timeof day when there are a heap of bike types around.

That's too much of a generalisation.

Bike types are not all warm and fuzzy, would never do any wrong types. There are some that do what they want when they want to whomever they chose.

Hawkie, I've worked in the prison system where I was treated like a queen by men who gangraped women. It might be a nice thought that all bikers are gentlemen at heart but you couldn't bank on it. People behave differently in a pack.

I don't see it bowing down OR might is right. I don't see any difference between what they were doing and the numerous other gathering, parades, celibrations, rallies, and protest marches. It's all part of life and creates traffic. A normal person would have just waited. One minute.

A couple of weeks ago diplomats from all over the world were here. Now THAT was pure chaos. It snarled traffic all over the city. Diplomats.....the most dangerous gang there is.

We arr definitely waltzing around together, crikey. 😉

I understand that you think he should be charged and then a court should decide whether he is guilty or not and the police shouldn't be making that decision.
However police officers have to make the decision whether a person has committed an offence according to the law. They can't just collect up everyone who may possibly have broken a law to keep courts full and lawyers employed.

I'll have to write a letter to Mr Abbott and talk to him about that then.

Some people can go their whole lives and never really live for a single minute.

Do that crikey,

Jimmeh, courtesy would make you wait for a parade but these bikers have underlined by their aggressive actions that they will rule by fear.
