The New York City Police Department said a man driving a Range Rover with his wife and 2-year-old daughter inside Sunday struck a motorcyclist on Manhattan's West Side Highway, breaking his leg.
The SUV driver pulled over, and the bikers surrounded his vehicle, hitting it and spiking the tires, police said. The driver pulled away, hitting three more bikers in the process, police said.
Should the driver in the SUV be charged?
What do you think of bikers?
What would you have done if you were the driver in the SUV?

I think the SUV driver should be charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
From what I hear....the bikers were blocking entrance ramps to the highway to create a caravan of bikers. The SUV driver didn't want to wait and drove around the guy blocking (knocking him down, hitting him? Not sure). What you see in the video is what took place after.
I'd be willing to bet....if when stopped the SUV may have got a few dings...nothing more. The driver did what he did out of anger, not because he was scared. Considering he had his wife and kid...he should have waited. I see the way people drive here and I'll bet $ ONE MILLION DOLLARS the SUV driver started it!
I know they shouldn't have been blocking entrances to the highway, but so what....one of the bikers is reported to be paralyzed.
Mayor bloomburg is a stuffed shirt and bikers don't have enough voting base to carry weight with him. They have west indian day parade, Puerto Rican day parade, etc.....and 9 out 10 times there are shootings, stabbings and robberies, riots. But they have a lot of voters!
In other cities....the safest time of year is bike week. Try snatching a purse in front of a group of bikers....aint gonna happen. Although these aren't real bikers....they were weekend warriors and wanna be's.
You do not know what state of mind this driver was in.... you do not know his past experiences, his concern for his child and wife in the car.... you can't say because you don't know.
To also say that he just got a few dings on his car is down playing the situation. A swam of bikers intimidating a driver so that they could take control of the roads is possibly a very scary thing. The people on the motorbikes started it... they are to blame. They had no right to take control of the roads. What did they think wold happen? That people would just submit to their intimidation's?

I know that I am being unreasonable and these are just facts of life but it boils my blood that might is right and you have to bow down to bikers and women can't walk safely at night and all the other things that we do because of the psychopaths out there. You would be far safer walking at night or any timeof day when there are a heap of bike types around.

This is an interesting take on the law.
It was on youtube, I can't find it
2 guys try to rob a convienience store in US. THe store owner acted in self defence and ended killing one of the robbers.
The law works that the other robber was charged with murder instead of the store owner.
So applying the same rule. THen the bikers who instigated the whole thing and provoked should also be charge for the injuries caused to the coma guy and the broken leg guy.

exactly! but we do know this particular group of riders past experiences because they were so full of their own self importance, so sure they were untouchable that they videoed and posted their past exploits.
