We've had all the rain, yesterday was stinking hot and now it is blowing a gale. Can we please just have some normal regular weather for a while please?

well other than the last week we have had perfectly fine and normal weather here for the past two years..... but then again that was all normal too as it was an ex cyclone... they predict that three or four come our way every year but thankfully most do not make landfall.

I can't understand all the hysteria....The days are NOT getting hotter & if anything, Summers are a complete wash out in the past few years.
I remember growing up, we'd get week long Heat Waves and had to sleep under a wet towel. The roads would melt and burn your feet & we'd all run outside when the inevitable thunder storm came in to break the heat & rain on everything. The steam used to rise from the roads. Kids used to pass out in the playground during assembly.
These days they get one day over 40 degrees and the world is coming to an end.
This classic was written in 1963. = Not a new concept.

i'm afraid the song does very little to reassure me cueperkins, the weight of scientific evidence and my own experience tells me otherwise.

I don't doubt there's global warming Lakeland....I get skeptical about all the hysterical claims though. For instance, a few years back we had the hottest new years day imaginable. The garden literally melted before our eyes.
That night on the news, they attributed it to global warming and then said we hadn't had a New Years Day that hot since 1936.
Well, being a thinking person, it seemed incongruous i.e. what happened in 1936 to explain it? Did the Nations Cows all have a big 'belly dart' in unison.
It's those kinds of claims that discredit the issue.
Remember when we had Ozone depletion?...we accepted it scientifically and socially, but it took 10 years to get commercial entities to STOP using the offending carbons. What concerns me is that they're NEVER gonna stop burning coal by comparison (plenty more where that came from), so therein lies the battle ground.
If they won't stop burning coal, then why aren't they trying to develop technologies to clean or capture the carbon emissions of coal stacks? I don't think anything else is going to overcome the profit they generate from destroying the atmosphere.
Crikey, do you know that whereas once this country has 4 strict Uranium Mining leases, we now have 24? So much for nuclear non proliferation. They're not going to stop polluting this world while there's a buck in it.

the ozone problem was accepted as truth because of the overwhelming evidence. fast forward to now and people prefer the claims of geoligists like Plimer and lord (?) monkton the lobbyist instead. the power of corruption funded by the fossil fuel lobby is enormous as evidenced by the artificially generated skepticism of easily manipulated public opinion. BS is king, despite all evidence.
