i want one, i like obscure toys and related junk. the X-Ray Specs were a bit of a disapointment though..
They're not so obsure. There is a big collectors market for this toy and they are still on ebay. I think I paid $200, mint condition in original box. I like it too....bought one for my collection of collectables too. I don't have a lot...maybe a small closets worth. A small box from when I was a kid I've managed to drag around the country and still have it.
Speaking of recyclables (<<<that spelling looks wrong...google says it's right?)...I just put out 2 large bags of plastics, a months worth. The truck just came by a minute ago. The bags I used are the ones my shirts come in from the cleaners. They come every 2 weeks for plastic, but missed him last time (it was a sneak attack at 5 am instead of 6:30!)
ALWAYS recycle batteries....lithium is probably the most dangerous substances that end up in the landfill.
I like your idea of the council pick up for large items. People going around looking for stuff to take. That's recycling!

The lithium battery in my last (and very first) mobile swelled up like a supersized mintie while charging, but it had lasted for 10 years (I was very good about charging only 'til full then stop, too).
I've heard they cause things to burst into flames too. What I find annoying here is, they don't advertise the battery recyle program....ever! I think...once a month we're supposed to put them in a bag on top of the plastics. Don't really know....I think its a secret.
I recycle mine through my job, but I know most people just toss them in the trash.

Plastic bags are banned in S.A. Well almost.10cent deposit on bottles etc. They've always been ahead of the game over there.
What do they put their rubbish in before it goes into the bin?
