Where is the Ministry for Science?

What about Innovation? Research? Ageing?

Or even Tourism?

And how come Arts gets lumbered in with the Attorney Generals busy portfolio?

Yet Border Protection gets it's own ministry rather than falling under the obvious category of Defence. An entire ministry for a handful of people that apparently aren't going to be coming here anymore?

Over the past 30 years the ice cap melting has increased by about 30%.

if  the ice caps completely melt the ocean levels may rise enough to flood major cities

Here, Iza, fixed that for you:

"The argument [behind climate change] is absolute xxxx.  However, the politics of this are tough for us. Eighty per cent of people believe climate change is a real and present danger."

His 'context' was summed up quite well by Kerry O'Brien he questioned Abbott on this sentence on the 7.30 report:

In other words, the only conclusion you draw from that is that you are saying, "We have to have a climate change policy because the people believe it's a danger, but I believe it's **bleep**".

Abbott then went on dig a further hole for himself by suggesting that he only said it was **bleep** because of the audience demographics.

To which Kerry O'Brien incredulously asked: So when you say a bit of rhetorical hyperbole in that conversation with that audience you say you adjust the message to whatever audience you are playing to, if that's the case, how do we know you haven't adjusted your message for this audience?

Yes,Howard left us a surplus the last year he was in power. But wait on,the mining boom waa going on for about 5 years. So what happened to the rest of the money-education?health?infrastructure?No.It was doled out in bribes-baby bonus and several tax cuts Economists at the time-I think Ross Gittins was one of them- pointed out that by decreasing the governments bread and butter revenue i.e personal income tax and relying heavily on mining tax, there was going to be problems for the government's revenue once the boom ended. They seemed to have got it right. So much for the libs economic credentials.

I think that the Titanic would have been very happy if there was no ice cap.
