Where is the Ministry for Science?

What about Innovation? Research? Ageing?

Or even Tourism?

And how come Arts gets lumbered in with the Attorney Generals busy portfolio?

Yet Border Protection gets it's own ministry rather than falling under the obvious category of Defence. An entire ministry for a handful of people that apparently aren't going to be coming here anymore?

Re: Where is the Ministry for Science?

Maybe casting a critical eye over the Telegraph is overdue, because as reference its the last port of call.

Yes, I realise.  I posted the link as an example only.  It was a 'related' story.  This is current: http://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/2013/09/19/indonesia-offended-coalitions-asylum-policy

oh....ok.....thanks!.... I think....mischief.gif

see, i'd much rather read this comment  http://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/2013/09/16/comment-women-deflation-abbott-frontbench

about Abbott's women than a comment that starts with comparing Abbott to a circus clown with big ears.

You do realize that people who write political content are often published in more than one place?

Nah, just judge anything with independent in the title as not worthy of reading, regardless of how qualified the writer is to comment.

And don't try to insult me by assuming I need you to inform me of SBS news opinion site.

Why was Greenland called Greenland when it is covered in snow... and now that it is going green again and the people can start to grow their own food and not have to import it all how is that a bad thing?

Just because the ice is melting does not mean that people will be able to grow their own food in Greenland.  But it the changes will mean that people will not be able to grow food in other areas that we do grow food now.  In other areas due to more CO2 in the atmosphere the growth of plants might be accelerated, which some people also think is good.  But in fact if you give plant more CO2 it growth faster but does not produce more of the parts that we eat.  Like the tree will grow faster, have larger leaves but less apples, or carrots will be all huge above the ground with little underneath.  Also the concern is that under these conditions plants tend to be more toxic.

Re: Where is the Ministry for Science?

science 'as been diluted, broken down, across some 14 other portfolios.

that achieves clown ears promise to cut spendin', but it does science in this country an  immense disservice.

first thing that it does, it robs science of havin' a minister with influence to argue the case for worthwhile projects,

over the whole science area, spectrum, whatever you wanta' call it.  shuts down the whole debate.

censorship's already turnin' up, in australia, since that greasy mob got their mitts on power.

the neglect of abbott to not include a science ministry will be to the loss of all australia.

   shame, mag.got, shame.
