Who are these scientists?

Who are the 75 Australian 'scientists and professionals' who say there is no climate emergency?

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-02-27/who-are--scientists-professionals-who-say-no-climate-emergenc...

willing to put their names on a document but go into hiding if anyone 'looks them up'

if they really believe in their version of climate change come out and explain it to me.

"Many of the Australian signatories have current or former connections to the mining industry"

Why does it matter, what their names are.   They may be right or not.  How many  alarmist predictions have failed to eventuate, then we are advised Ah it is not an exact science, there are so many variables  etc, etc.

I went to the local wharf last week,  The water was still where it was 50yrs ago.  I also visited approx 20 Boat ramps last month,

most over 50 yrs old, not one of them has had to be extended.

PS.  I believe the climate is changing

Oh almost  forgot,  for the last 30yrs I have crossed over a tidal creek daily, via a Bridge that is over 100yrs old.  Now I dont get the tape measure out, but there has been no visible difference in the tidal extent.

If the sea level is rising, why would the water go aw2ay? Or the boat ramps need extending?

Billions of tonnes of ice melting into the sea might ameliorate sea level rises in the short term as water expands with heat and the ice will cool it down for a while. Until it melts. But medium term, more water in the sea means the sea level will be higher. That is not open to opinion; it's simple physics.

You are looking at extending the boat ramps the wrong way.  As in the ramps do not need to be built any higher than they were  50 - 100 yrs ago.

All these people now paying through the nose for insurance because they are now deemed to live in inundation areas.

I also remember those doctors who would testify that smoking does not cause cancer...........

The science has been pretty much settled 20+ years ago; there will be more frequent and more destructive storms, floods and droughts, which will cause wildfires of  unprecedented ferocity.  Sounds familiar?  This summer is just the start.  The cost will be considerably more than the cost of reducing emissions.  Not just in $ value but also in human costs.

i have said all along they may have it wrong, the climate may well not be changing

BUT

if they are wrong but we do as they say we should the planet WILL be a better place than if we do what the sceptics say and do nothing.

does anyone really think filling the atmosphere with polution and covering the land with our rubbish is a good thing?

the fact there is a growing island of carp out in the ocean, is that not something to worry about?

luckily i wont have to worry about the planet, i'll be dead and gone well before it gets to the point of no return if that happens

sadly if things are to end badly at the point those sceptics realise they were wrong the titanic will be half way to the ocean floor, bit late to say 'oops'

and there wont be a 'well now we will stop all that bad stuff and itll be allright'

itll be too late.
