While those statistics may be valid in the secular world, they should not even exist in the world of religions/churches.

What was it in the christian bible again?  "Suffer the children to come unto me" said the person of Jesus.

'Suffer' became the operative word towards those youngsters who now suffer all their lives over the abuse they suffered.

Makes me feel ill to think about it.

May those particular men of the cloth and those who covered up for them, and still do, see hell.

That's right, they should not exist full stop, no argument with that.  I'm not discussing police, and I don't know who "we" are as far as the police are concerned, I don't speak for how others feel about that.

My point about those who administrate the church, is that they are supposedly those who stand in front of the altar, emanate prayer, humility, kindness, counselling and 'god' love towards their parishioners ... the young, the vulnerable, weak, sick etc etc etc ...... not be abusing powerless, harmless and innocent children.

Yes, I know in one particular church, not all priests are/were involved, how horrible for them to have to take the brunt of the reputation for that church and their poor followers with it.

Not quite the same as sexual abusers though, at least there is always the freedom with friendship groups to walk away safely and without physical harm, so not sure that deflection has any meaning.

supposed to protect, obviously, yet they

are not immune to corruption and child

a church is just another institution run

by people.   no different to any others -
