Who has tried a Circulation Booster

Who has tried a Circulation Booster?

Its same one as the famous swimmer is currently promoting on TV at the moment

Since having an accident earlier in the year and a skin graft to a crushed foot, I still have some swelling and deap bruising and was loaned one of these devices as well as a ultrasound massager.

just wondering if anyone has tried either and what they believe the effects were?

Re: Who has tried a Circulation Booster

I asked my doctor about them as I am diabetic and have very poor circulation in my feet.  He thought they were good but could be bought a lot cheaper than the ones advertised on TV.

I have ended up getting one from ebay for about a quarter the price of the highly promoted ones.  I am happy with it but cannot compare them as I have never used the other one.

I have one and use it sometimes. I read somewhere that the vibration helps fractures heal more quickly. Don't know if that is true or not. If you have had an injury it might be a good idea to check with your doctor before using it though.

Thanks for the replies everone, I was loaned one last night along with an ultra sound device, I am trying both as I am sick of the injury and want to be as good as posible ASAP.

Dixo I am using it as I sit here, so its no big deal, I have found around the 60 gets a reaction

Re: Who has tried a Circulation Booster

"The Therapeutic Goods Administration’s (TGA) advertising complaints resolution panel determined there was no conclusive evidence it could provide pain relief, or that it would reduce cankles, improve circulation, ease arthritic pain, reduce fluid retention and swelling, aid fast recovery from muscular injury or relieve aches and pains. This doesn’t mean it can’t do these things – only that it hasn’t been proved it can."

"Of greater concern, though, is that swollen ankles can be a sign of cardiovascular disease – something we’d expect pharmacists to be aware of. Bypassing diagnosis by a doctor and buying the machine off the shelf simply to relieve swollen ankles could delay essential treatment for a more serious disease."

However, bearing in mind the comment apropos swollen ankles, there is nothing wrong with a placebo if the "patient" feels relief from using the device.

Go for a walk.  Hawk, If your circulation doesn't get boosted on that motor bike you have then something is wrong with your system.

How about everyone gets out there and does some exercise.  I'm going to a follow me exercise session on Monday.  You just have to follow the trainer and suffer along biggrin2.gif

Re: Who has tried a Circulation Booster

It's very important to work on improving circulation by walking or other exercise because of the risk of vascular dementia.

It must do something because I am always lighter the after a 2 or 3 hundred KM ride and the BP is always lower.

Going by your reply I take you didnt read this bit,

"Since having an accident earlier in the year and a skin graft to a crushed foot, I still have some swelling and deap bruising"

Re: Who has tried a Circulation Booster

Yes I read that and particularly this part "earlier in the year". That's a long time for swelling to remain and may indicate circulatory problems, so it's important to work on that to avoid risk of vascular dementia. Maybe see your doctor?

Hawk, have you put some moisteriser on the soles of your feet before getting on the machine? If not, try that. You'll be amazed how moist feet will make all the difference to how the pulse works.  See how easy intense 60 feels then.... Smiley SurprisedHeart
