Who is watching the debate tonight?

It's on at 6:30 on abc ( and other channels). You can download the Morgan poll reactor from the App Store and track your approval as you watch it. That's what I'm going to do 😄

I vaguely remember tony rabbit won a debate in the last election, I wonder how he'll go tonight.

Bottom line freakie is no matter how its glossed over RUDD cheated and failed and only the dedicated few cant cope with that fact.
Kevin Rudd accused of cheating in leaders' debate

THE Coalition has accused Kevin Rudd of cheating in last night's leaders' debate after he relied on pre-prepared notes in a clear breach of the rules.

Opposition campaign spokesman Mathias Cormann said the Prime Minister's credibility had been undermined.

“He says the election is all about trust and then he cheats in the debate,” Senator Cormann told ABC radio.

“Last night Tony Abbott was looking like a leader, Kevin Rudd was looking like a reader.”

It's just stupid that people are more interested in the paper and pens than the substance of the comments.

" What's the point of allowing paper and pen if not for notes?"

To note/remember  points raised by an oppent during the debate, not a source of ammunition  (sorry LL & DY)  from before.

Re: Who is watching the debate tonight?

A few bits of paper is not cheating. All the talk of cheating seems more a way of taking the focus off any substance that may have been discussed.

What I saw of it was fairly boring.

It does seem that one side has a view to the future and one side has a view to the past.

Re: Who is watching the debate tonight?

But despite claims the picture of Abbott with notes was from last night's debate, the photo was in fact taken during the 2010 leader's debate with former prime minister Julia Gillard.

Upon further inspection the pictures reveal numerous discrepencies; last night Speers' lecturn was not centre stage, in comparison to 2010. Abbott's hair style and tie are also markedly different.

However the rules for both 2010 and 2013 Leader's Debates state: "The Leaders may have a pen and paper on the lecturn and no other documentation or props."

Re: Who is watching the debate tonight?

I've been trying to pretend Laurie didn't say that Clair, but you keep reminding me 😄 he said it again this morning. But he's wrong. I'm having a rally lunch with Therese...and we might discuss the debate. Before rallying.

The image mentioned here and discussed elsewhere was from last night.

The one from 2010 is clearly not from last night as everything is different.  You'd have to be blind and stupid to try to use that as an example of Abbott using notes.

On the footage last night you can see paper in front of both men and both men writing on said paper at various times.

How stupid have we become that trivial BS takes a place of more importance than substance?

I can't even post funny pics about how silly it is because they get reported and removed.

Re: Who is watching the debate tonight?

rofl thanks Clair. Yes I know, but it might be debatable. Debate. I nearly screamed... I definitely recoiled... When tony abbott leered into the camera during the DEBATE. Lol

When he called himself, aptly, a suppository, during an interview about the DEBATE this morning, he admitted he had practiced that leer in the mirror haha.
