Particularly when every Labor governement in living history has amounted such huge debts whilst in office?
Or is it just that they blindly follow the old mantra, that 'Labor is for the working man?'
Now don't get me wrong - I don't particularly like Abbott, and I sure as h3ll didn't like Rudd or Gillard, but there's so much more to a political party than it's leader.
Feel free to discuss...

Discussion over apparently.

That is your usual response to differing views.

It seems more and more, that we all grow far more like our parents as we age, than we'd like to acknowledge. Habits, mannerisms, clothes, political and religious affiliations - and whenever our preffered party does something against character these days, we seem to either turn a blind eye, or make excuses for their acts of incompetence - but we are more than willing to slander the opposition!
My parents were liberal voters and and self employed, I supported the Labor and the union movement until I saw a swing by labor away from looking after the lower end of town and more feathering their own nests.
at one stage we had 5 rentals and self employed as a private investor yet I wouldnt dream of voting Liberal because their policies and tactic turn my stomach, the only good thing they did that I strongly disagree with labor on is the boats.

The whinging about tax being spent on benefits etc is shameful.
The NBN is great, especially in rural and regional areas where the broadband service was slow, outdated and expensive before.
In your opinion.
I was taught nothing is for nothing.
And internet speed isn't something I consider important. So who has the greater social conscience?

Reading above
People on benefits shouldn't 'benefit' from other taxpayers tax payments.
People who work hard, own two houses, should pay tax but not benefit from contributing in a big way to the tax take either.
This all stems from the LNP spin doesn't it? Lifters and leaners... person A works an hour a week to pay for person B's dole benefit?
Which is rubbish.
nevyn - you don't consider internet speed important - do you speak for ALL Australians? Nope.

It must have been you, I don't know what, they did with our 48 cents in every dollar over many years and i don't know what happened to the $70-80,000 we paid in stamp duty over the years when we moved house either. I never asked them

That is because it's not taxpayers money any longer once its paid to the ATO.. it goes to the Govt to redistribute... education, health, social welfare..etc.
I find it very odd people say their tax pays for this or they don't want it paying for social welfare... no choice in the matter taxpayers!

No. It's my disappointment in not being able to have an adult discussion about a topic not agreed on.
