Particularly when every Labor governement in living history has amounted such huge debts whilst in office?
Or is it just that they blindly follow the old mantra, that 'Labor is for the working man?'
Now don't get me wrong - I don't particularly like Abbott, and I sure as h3ll didn't like Rudd or Gillard, but there's so much more to a political party than it's leader.
Feel free to discuss...

No. It's my disappointment in not being able to have an adult discussion about a topic not agreed on.
I disagree, as soon as other posters put forward a differing view you start posting similar as you did above.

Forgive me - I know I have said my farewells as in Good Night.
But
You really think you can have an adult discussion - here.
OH Lordy.

People on benefits shouldn't 'benefit' from other taxpayers tax payments.
People who work hard, own two houses, should pay tax but not benefit from contributing in a big way to the tax take either.
This all stems from the LNP spin doesn't it? Lifters and leaners... person A works an hour a week to pay for person B's dole benefit?
Which is rubbish.
nevyn - you don't consider internet speed important - do you speak for ALL Australians? Nope.
The speed of the internet is not important in my life I'm sorry that it seems to be important to you.

I always felt we were contributing to pollies super funds lol
though OH was a high income earner, he was still supporting a family of 4 and paying almost half his wages in taxes. never seemed fair somehow

There is more than the 2 of us in Australia. NBN is important especially in regional and rural Areas.
In my area the local council, library, photographer who sell photos to mags online oseas, real estate agents (video conferences) etc have bennefited greatly from the NBN service (ADSL before - not ADSL2)
It is very small minded to say I don't care about internet speed, when there are many many more who do, especially businesses.
So people (including high school & uni students) on ADSL (not ADSL2 or 2+) in rural/regional areas shouldn't mind not being able to access a lot of stuff because their internet is too slow.. OK that sounds fair.
Still waiting for poddsters list of 'rebates' these 'low' income earners get, apart from the tax free threshold of $18 000+ that ALL taxpayers are eligible for.
Abbott govt cut out a few 'rebates'.

We did't use YOUR tax dollars to pay for our batts, we used our OWNBut who paid the social side of things then? The vote grabs?
It must have been you, I don't know what, they did with our 48 cents in every dollar over many years and i don't know what happened to the $70-80,000 we paid in stamp duty over the years when we moved house either. I never asked them
The polies spent it all on themselves living it like kings and being try hards to look better than they really are to the rest of the world while sucking up to the red white an d blue flag
Yes they do. But my tax dollars were not paid to pay for someone who pays 48 cents in every dollar to insulate their house. The house they live in, not the other one. I actually paid for the social, those who couldn't get jobs, those who needed medical care and couldn't afford it. And now I find it was for someone's insulation on one of their homes.

You don't get it do you? Taxpayer 1 with two houses, pays a lot of tax, so it is not YOUR tax they are using to insulate their house it is their own!!
Apart from that there is no your tax, my tax or anyone elses tax.. it is paid into the Govt for them to redistribute. Taxpayer A doesn't get a statement of where their tax paid is redistributed to!

Well I'm glad someone can figure that out Am lol

I really don't understand people (taxpayers?) who say I pay tax, I don't want it going to schools.. I have no children, I don't want it going to social welfare payments... there is no choice for those taxpayers where it goes, so why waste breath/pixels saying these things?
It is a futile statement.
