Scott "Holiday in Hawaii" Morrison is a one-of-a-kind.

Panicked PM tries to reverse a dog-whistle amid quarantine incompetenceWhat happens if an Australian blocked from returning from India dies of COVID? And why has India been singled out for criminalisation?
Political irony doesn't get much better than this: Scott Morrison having to interrupt his promotion of a new third-of-a-billion dollar package to invest in systems to protect Australia's cattle from external biosecurity threats, to put out a firestorm over his criminalisation of Australians returning from India. All of which is the product of his failure to invest in systems to protect Australians themselves from external biosecurity threats.

If Rudd was in the PM seat this whole mess would have been handled with a whole lot more efficiency. And Rudd's faith is something I would have more faith in.

1% of the Indian population is now being infected daily - untimely related deaths take 2-3 weeks from first infection, 30% of hospital survivors suffer some psychotic events later - ongoing victims
Is not something we want here
The triple mutation super spreader variant needs to be kept out of Australia so as to remain effectively covid free and so open to business , freedom of movement , normalised living except no international travel
We do not have the fascilities to deal with an influx of potentially infected of that nasty variant and we currently lack the desire to expand the NT Howard Springs facility - the only really credible national anti-covid quarantine facility

WOW . . . JUST WOW!
I didn’t realise that 13,910,000 people are being infected each day!
Have you got a link so I can read more about this?
Cheers

OK, from what I read here it appears that "30% of hospital survivors" in India are the ones that "suffer some psychotic events later". Well, is it PTSD or directly related to an aspect the disease?
Looking at the invaluable info you provided in your link to an interview with Dr. Peter McCullough and what I have read flowing on from that (and thanks again by the way), what is strongly evident is that early stage treatment avoids the need for hospitalization. And the experts, the ones that obey their hippocratiic oath and have sound morals support this evidence!
So, if early stage treatment is implemented, is this later psychosis less likely?
Going back to what I said about the incompetence of this current administration and what I believe to be the highly probable better handling if Kevin Rudd was PM, I would also like to add that that this current administration has been seen to be very slack (many would say deliberately so) when properly dealing with racial and religious prejudices. Some might even say that these prejudices are a friend to their political agendas. Well, actually it has been said on various occasions. Even a former PM distanced himself from the political party he once represented due to what he viewed as it's relationship to bigotry. I'm not saying that racism is the issue here with the current. But, I do wonder if the fact that the ethnicity of these Australians in India not being the same as the people in the current administration is the reason for a certain lack of compassion. Or in other words, would they be more compassionate if they were Caucasian?
Hmmm

Back to the reality of the topic. The situation in India really is terrible. The number of infected is closing in on the population number of Australia. The Indian Government continues to allow cultural and religious events as they attempt to censor media coverage of the health crisis. Some of the images are tragic and heartbreaking. Given the Indian Government's agenda, it doesn't look like things will improve soon. I wouldn't want to be trapped in that country at the moment for quids.

The India government's handling of the situation is less than competent. The caste system needs to be dismantled and access to medical facilities and treatment without differentiation based on status would be a giant positive step.
And important parts of the reality of the topic are addressed in my previous message !

50 odd ethnic classifications make up the general race parameters that are designated Caucasian. All the "Indian" classifications are included ie Indians by heritage are Caucasiod......

It could very well be possible that these "designated Caucasian" of the " Indians by heritage" who technically " are Caucasiod......" are not held in the same esteem and thought of with the same fondness as the ""designated Caucasian" by this current administration who are of the same likeness. I personally believe this to be so. And Malcolm Fraser left the Liberal party for a certain reason. Actually various reasons.

Fraser quits Liberal Party

Mr Fraser has previously criticised the party for becoming one of "fear and reaction" and says it is now unrecognisable as the party he joined more than 50 years ago. The former prime minister has also been a vocal critic of the Coalition's border protection policies.

Meanwhile people in India are needing to come back. Families are divided and many have responsibilities in Australia.
