the problem with using your “Current figures” is that it ignores “weekly trends”.
I used this site when doing a recent trend comparison:
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/weekly-trends/#weekly_table
The raw figures are staggering, but the figures circled in blue on the screengrab below are the ones that matter as they can be thought of as ‘corrected for population’.
The recent trends for the last week, and the week before that, are contrary to the picture painted by the figures you posted. The other thing to consider is the accuracy of the figures. There have been reports that the current situation in India is far worse than that shown by ‘official figures’, and the the real numbers are many times more than official.
I had thought that India would overtake the USA in total cases by the middle of June, but their numbers are dropping. By my calculations, India will now overtake the USA in total number of (official) cases before the end of June.

further to my previous post . . . when you look at the USA 7 day moving average you will notice that it started to drop just after mid-January. Some might say it corresponds pretty much with the change of leadership there (see graph below).
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/
There was a major shift in the approach to the Coronavirus with the inauguration of Joe Biden. The vaccine is playing its part, but leadership does count.
In the interests of making a comparison, here is the India 7 day moving average graph

I presume that you posted “current figures” yesterday to show that the USA is still far ahead of India in terms of COVID stats and you now feel like you are ‘spinning’ the figures. That pricked my curiosity, so let’s take a look!
Your Opening Post did not state the total cases, but they can be worked out.
Total USA cases on 27th April = 98,000 x 333 (the number of millions of American people) = 32,634,000 cases, total deaths = 587,412
Total India cases on 27th April = 13,000 x 1,392 (the number of millions of Indian people) = 18,096,000 cases, total deaths = 197,664
The growth in the number of cases is therefore:
1,262,660 in the USA, and
8,656,447 in India*
The growth in the number of deaths is therefore:
17,316 in the USA, and
105,792 in India*
*as posted previously, the accuracy of figures in India has been questioned
If anything, I think your figures support a continued cautious approach to having flights from India to Australia. Not sure if that was your intent, but that’s how I interpret your figures.

My initial overall comparison was flawed by being just that ...'overall'.
Current figures ( prior 7 days ) do shout 'no flights from India'.
Interestingly the USA figure is probably overstated inasmuch as Covid
gets more government money thrown at it than Flu.
"Hospital administrators might well want to see COVID-19 attached to a discharge summary or a death certificate. Why? Because if it's a straightforward, garden-variety pneumonia that a person is admitted to the hospital for – if they're Medicare – typically, the diagnosis-related group lump sum payment would be $5,000. But if it's COVID-19 pneumonia, then it's $13,000, and if that COVID-19 pneumonia patient ends up on a ventilator, it goes up to $39,000."
Anyhoot let's keep the borders closed until a rapid cheap and reliable test comes along.
( Did someone says there is one going into action in Singapore in just days ? )
Keep the borders closed anyway. More dollars will be spent in Australia.
In my case $1000.00 for dental that would have cost $300.00 in Kuching 😞
