I am so over all the cats roaming through our backyard.
Not only does it mean our pet rabbit can't be outside in his own backyard or that I have to watch out where I put my hands when I am gardening because there is cat c*ap every where or that we get woken up at night because of cat fights.
But today I have spent the afternoon washing down with bleach all the entrances to my house, the perimetre walls and garden pots because the stench of their spraying is unbearable. They are even spraying the cars in the driveway.
And whilst I know that every cat owner on here will say they are responsible cat owners or that their cat is always inside or that they have cat runs so their cats never leave their property, I have yet to meet a cat owner in Sydney that has any of the above.
If you can't keep a cat on YOUR property then you have no business owning a cat in the first place.

maybe just put bait out then.
i am too soft to do it myself but i am almost fed up enough to do it (if that makes any sense to you).

My Council lends cages to trap wandering, annoying cats.
You bait the trap/s with cat food, cats get locked in - council picks them up 9am.
If they are microchipped, the owner gets a hefty fine.
If no ownership - bye bye kitty.
Oh, I had a roaming cat beating up my kitty(she's old)in her own
backyard in the daytime. She gets locked in at night. I used the trap.
Haven't seen it since - bye bye kitty

it's the same problem we have with our planet being destroyed.
there is a fairly "simple" solution to the destruction of the planet : STOP BREEDING LIKE RABBITS!!!
yet no one adheres to it because it's inconvenient.
imagine if the world population was 1 million. do you think we would have global warming?
or house prices that a normal person can pay off in their lifetime (unlike now)?
i don't think so.
to answer your question: i still love cats. it's just not the place to be for them, and culling would only make sense if the uneducated stupid masses would refrain from having undesexed cats roaming free.
i am well aware that soppy unrational and unlogical emotions will always outweigh rational decisions. yeah, oohhh that cat is sooo cut! never mind it's part of the destruction of native animals....

i once looked and if i wanted to rent a cage from the council to catch stray cats it costs $160 (if i remember right), so it's not for free otherwise i would have done it.
i can't kill a cat but i hate that hugeneighbour tomcat that killed a dove while i was watching (not fast enough to prevent it).

I have a neighbour that trespasses and puts cat poo on our cars, but how can I trespass on his property and shave his **bleep**ing heater up his **bleep**?
