Why do people observe Good Friday?

Why Friday?

will tell you that he is an expert in Scripture. He assures you that Hell is not real and that Jesus is not YHWH.

Scholars will tell you they know it all. They have jobs in universities and seminaries etc. They preach the Word of God or write books on it.They ALL tell you that Jesus was crucified on a Friday.

The Bible does not say that.In fact the Bible appears to be absolutely showing that the cricifixion took place on a Thursday.

So my question is simple. Why would they believe anything these people say when the get the simple things so wrong?

Secondly many many people will say that the Bible translations are correct. There is a KJV only movement and they will tell you tat the KJV must be followed.

If you tell them the Bible is mistranslated they go beserk.

So if any one is interested I will show you through the Bible that not only was the crucifixion on a Thursday and not Friday that also the Bible is mistranslated.

If anyone wants to make fun or start a fight they will be reported and ignored. If anyone wants to search for the truth I am here to help you find the truth.I do not want to fight.I just want you to search for and find the truth.

I misunderstood.I thought this was a public forum.I thought questions could be asked here.I thought things could be discussed. Now you tell me that all that is wrong. But I have a question for you. When did I COMPEL you to answer?

I most certainly did not tell you to not discuss anything.

i asked a civil question, feel free to answer without hostility and discuss it.

OK I will give you proof from the Bible that all the people who teach you the Bible do not have the slightest idea when it comes to the easy stuff and therefore should not be trusted with the hard stuff.

tells you that there is no hell.Reject what he says.He says the "trinity " is a lie.Reject what he says.

He has no clue what day the crucifixion was on and accepts Friday. He like so many got such a simple thing wrong.

Matthew 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Matthew 28 :1In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre

There you have it in 2 Scriptures.Proof that it was NOT a Friday. And they got so simple a thing wrong?

BTW this also dispels the myth that Jonah was ALIVE in the belly of the big fish.

Mathematics proves them wrong. If it was a Friday it was 3 days and 2 nights.

and on this thread you say : "Bible appears to be absolutely showing that the cricifixion took place on a Thursday."

Honestly, how can I believe anything you say? Make up your mind - is it Wednesday or Thursday???

I prefer to go by scripture, but you go ahead and say what you want. I don't know about YOUR Bible but mine says at 1 Corinthians:

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

let's see - died day 1 Friday; Day 2 would have been Saturday and Day 3 would have been Sunday.

He died on the day before the Sabbath (ie Friday) and the day AFTER the Sabbath (Sunday - the third day) the women came back to the tomb and he had risen.

Once again you are WRONG - 'on the third day' is NOT the same as after 3 days.

Go and check the GOSPELS again Clive. You just called Jesus a LIAR!I quoted the Scripture. Then you told us the WOMEN wrapped Him in bandages.Show me that in the Scripture Clive. Then you got the SABBATH wrong.

There was TWO Sabbaths that week.As the Gospel says a HIGH HOLY DAY.PASSOVER!

and this is FROM THE BIBLE. "HE ROSE AGAIN ON THE THIRD DAY", so he died on Friday and rose on Sunday.
