His overall dimeaner this past week has been interesting. He certainly looks anxious.
So why not take Rudd on in a debate as Rudd suggests? It might be a good opportunity for Abbott to promote his policies.

“I mean, Mr Rudd can recall Parliament if he wishes to have a debate. As soon as he names the election date, then the election debate will be in full swing,” he said.
So? Whats the problem?
Big difference I would think between Rudd and Abbott alone, having a debate on the economy at The Press Club that holding a debate in parliament. There wouldn't just be the two of them there would there? Plus Parliament would have to be recalled.. why would they do that for a televised debate between two leaders?

cats - like Abbott you keep bringing up old history and most of it is irrelevent and requires another thread.
But surely you would want to know what policies the party you are planning to vote for are bringing to the election??
In only a few days, Rudd has already outlined his direction.
But where are Abbotts policies? He promised he would produce some before the election. But so far nothing. When is he going to unveil his plans for the country? In the week before?
Whatever I think of Abbott I am still very interested to hear what his policies are going to be.
As I said in one of my posts, sensibly they will not be pushed and when the time is right the libs will put forward their policies, they will be unveiled well before the election and in plenty of time for us to see them.

He has been sitting on his old broken promises for three years... he is now PM again and should have policies to replace the ones he made such a huge mistake with...
and I should bring them up because you judge a PM by their history... he has a history of bad choices...
can you please tell me when any other opposition has released their policies before an election is even called???

Your right, they don't and the libs won't because why should they ?

A few friends have said to me 'Labor voters couldn't be that stupid" to believe anything that KDUDD says but I stuck up for you luvvies and I said that they could
🙂
A few weeks bounce in the polls and then Australia will wake up to the fact its the same disaster that was going to lose the election in 2010 and was replaced. the RECYCLED KDUDD will not last....
The luvvies forget that Abbott took 20 seats of Labor in 2010 to make it a 50/50 split
Anyway carry on...

I would not be pushed either, I would wait until the appropriate time when all the policies have been completed.
??? He has had 4 years to think of something, if he is not ready now, he will never be. Anyway, he was asked to debate the state of Australian economy and to justify his criticism of the government.

FGS give the party time as you would the opposition, this has been one of the 2 biggest upheavals in Australian politics and a decision to dump, knife JG by KR has only been done in the past week. I am confident the libs have their policies in order but "when the time is right" they will deliver.
Parties policies change depending on what the sitting government is achieving or not, any opposition has to adjust accordingly because the environment changes.
IMO no one could make any decisions until the full extent of the mess has been uncovered.
