Elephant, wasn't there some research which watched some birds (can't remember which) which were "known" to be absolutely paired for life, and found them to be philanderers, blowing the theory out of the water?

Actually, I take that back and agree with you Poddy. I have just reread the OP. If it had said simply Polygamy Is Wrong that would have invited a debate but saying Why Is Polygam Wrong does indeed imply that its 'wrongness' is indisputable.
