Why do we call the rain god Huey?
There is thunder rumbling around and big dark rain clouds and I was muttering, "send her down Huey" which is something my Mum (and her mum) used to say.
But why do we say it? Why or Who is Huey?

Well, Huey's name comes from Hugh Heffners GGGrandfather, he was a very generous man and when he died he went to heaven. Unfortunately Huey also suffered from incontinence.

He is a sibling of Duey and Luey.

Why is it so that we have to put those little stickers on fruit?

Icy, the stickers cover the worm holes.

The stickers are designed to keep the peace at home.
When hubby is sent out to get some apples he just has to read the sticker and does not take bananas or oranges home 🙂

so we know which ones the kids are singing about in that TV jingle
'My dad picks the fruit
that goes to cottees
to make the cordial
that I like best"
Great for "Show and Tell" for those kids
plus it boosts employment.
