Why is there a debate about Abortion?

Whether you're Pro-choice or Anti-choice. Both sides agree you cannot force someone to donate their body whether you believe a foetus is a human being or not. Doesn't the debate just end there?

For me it does, I get what your saying, least i think i do, it's silly to put such effort into something that ultimatly, you have no control over. laws can be passed, but forcing someone to actually have a baby could proove a bit difficult. then there's the matter of properly caring for a living being, a child. Are we really doing a person a favor by letting them be born. Depends on who you are, where you are, and the future in store fot this person.

Personal freedom takes presidence with me, but by the same token, i should hope any woman lucky enough to get pregnant would recognize the gift they have been given and give serious thought to the choice, not an easy one, they have to make.

Should they choose to have the baby, i would hope that they put the child ahead of themselves in importance. I seldem see moms doing this. To most, a kid is an inconvience, something they have to deal with, and do so in the most minimal way possible. My pregnant cousins smoked, and it make me sick to see, my sister smoked and drank, my niece, she smoked while pregnant and had to give up her child because black herion was more important to her.

In the shelter, there are moms seperated from their kids, some talk about their plans to get them back. But yet, I can't see myself as lucky to never have to face those hardships. Just because of the wonderful gift that would be.

Did you read my OP Softail??? DO you agree everyone of us can decide what we do with our own body? If you agree, then there's no debate about abortion.

If you agree with that then it follows you agree that women can choose what they want to do. Game over.

There is a debate because some people agree that choice is sacrosanct others believe that killing hundreds of thousands of foetuses a year is morally wrong. I think before anyone cements their opinion on this topic you need to ask yourself the question.

Is it morally wrong to terminate hundreds of thousands of potential lives every year? And why so many?

And the debate follows on from there imo.  Anyone heard of human diploid cells? These are cells harvested from human abortions and used in the process of making vaccines.  Everyone okay with this?

THat's not the argument being made here.  Supposely your son needs your kidney to survive. SHould you be force by law to supply that kidney? If you say no, the abortion debate is over.

My question is who has the control of the woman's body?

It's a very simple debate. You can't jump the gun and say you're killing another life before you decide whether the women has control over their body.
