Wildfires

We've got 9 major fires burning in Oregon right now, 3 right around Southern Oregon, and two more have been reported, one just north of us, and one 12 miles south.  Over 300 lightning strikes in our locality this afternoon.

Looks like Erickson will be keeping most of their S-64 helos right around home........

Re: Wildfires

How scary for you.  I hate wildfires, and have been very, very close to many over the last 6 or so years.  Here in Oz we are always warned every summer to have a bushfire plan, do you stay and defend or do you leave?  My plan was always to leave early before they impact in my close vacinity. Hope you are prepared for whatever you decide to do.  All the best band camp.

Re: Wildfires

The company I worked for a few years ago loved it when it hailed.  Lots of insurance claims for damaged awnings.........but we learned not to give free estimates, because the cheapos would submit the estimate to their insurance, collect the money, and never call us for the job.  We ended up charging $25 per estimate, the money then being included as part of the total price upon completion of a job.  Boy, the folks who were just trying to screw the insurance companies howled........
