Will the real Paul McCartney please stand up.

http://worldnewsdailyreport.com/former-beatle-ringo-starr-claims-the-real-paul-mccartney-died-in-19...

I've never heard anything so preposterous. So we are to believe that the instant McCartney 'died', suddenly, as if by magic, his doppelganger appeared ? If those two images are supposed to convince us, then all I can say is that if they are a couple of different people, then McCartney has an identical twin.  And all this happened in the full glare of the Beatles popularity did it ?. What a crock of garbage.

I've always thought that Starr was not quite right in the head, and this outburst confirms it. He was a pretty mediocre drummer too.

You reckon Wings was a failure ?

Wasn't up with the best but he was pretty popular.

I think the 4 made the Beatles. Same as the other big groups, Pink Floyd, Led Zep etc.

I suppose the pop of Wings resonated with some but the music was ridiculed at the time.

Look back on the music of George and you will see magic and genius. His best mate Eric Claptton has applauded George's music and lyrics for years. George didn't need anyone to help him write his masterpieces.

I loved George.

I can't remember a song he wrote after Lennon died that even jogs a memory and his Wings album was a failure and was ridiculed.

Paul's early solo albums didn't go down well but Wings was huge, with six number one singles in the U.S. for starters.

I saw the band at the Seattle Kingdome in 1976. They were brilliant. Linda's keyboard skills might not have been quite up to the standard of the rest  of the band but I admire her spunk for having a go in front of 64,000 people.

The show was due to start about 8p.m. and by three o'clock there were thousands of us hanging out in the huge carpark. The band arrived by helicopter. A little later, accompanied by just one security guy, Paul walked out into the crowd, shaking hands and chatting to the fans. I'll never forget what he said to the people directly in front of me: "So are you guys going to hang around for the show?"

Thanks for posting. "The Concert For George" was beautiful and sad but uplifting too, one of the very best concerts I have ever seen. I cried at the end when they played While my guitar gently weeps.

Eric was superb and Billy Preston was there after all his years with the group and George. RIP Billy.

I agree.  I have it on DVD.  Superb guitar playing and fabulous musicians, all of them.

George was only 17 when he went to Hamburg with the group. He was a  superb guitarist.
