Women who abuse Men.

Why is it more socially acceptable for a woman to abuse a man than it is for a man to abuse a woman.

Do you think there's a double standard that men get called misogynists when women can be just as guilty of misandry?

Even if we're not talking about physical abuse, what about the psychological abuse women can place on men? Women are good at working out what makes men tick and yet they continue to push the buttons. Is society the problem?

You can clearly see people laughing when a man gets abused.

Whatever.  We have had a young family member murdered - more a case of "fatal attraction", but I still have a sense of humour and don't take everything seriously.

Me too. I love humour, just not of the sexist or violent type  😄

Please do not joke about domestic violence.  Joking about something makes it acceptable.  I can only assume that you are male.  I can't believe that a woman would have written this.

Changing the gender in the joke makes no difference.  Violence is not OK, whoever commits it.

Would you tell the same joke (or any other) if the victim was a child?   A joke about child abuse?

The question shouldn't be why is it more except able as I don't believe anybody would agree that it is, the question is why is it that women can not except that it not only happens but is quite prevalent, and the abuse is more to the mental side with woman than physical but the abuse is still happening both physical and mental abuse of men

Please fill in the gaps. Where does it say that women can not accept that it happens?

Yes, some women abuse men but more men abuse women and more men kill women.

If you dont know the poster, maybe you should not comment..........she had a murder in her family.

I my self went to hell and back with domestic abuse............yet like Sandy, I like a laugh too, and that is all it was, just a bit of light heartednness.

She wasnt having a go about the situation.

Having a famiily member murdered, not from domestic violence, but something else. Not all murders are due to domestic violence.

So, she had a murder, I suffered dreadful domestic violence and I had a child take his own life..............terrible situations, but it is still nice to have a light hearted laugh now and again and she didnt mean anything more than a laugh.

Yes, it was a joke. It was a joke that places the blame for domestic violence on women.

There are plenty of other ways to make jokes.

Making jokes that suggest if women shut their mouths they would not get hit only serves to reinforce stereotypes that women ask for a flogging and that it is acceptable for them to get one.

Actually, my mother could have done with "swishing her mouth out with water".

Maybe some of you may need this remedy as well Smiley LOL.

How many men are abused emotionally, psychologically or physically? Any stats on that? Or we just don't care?

Is there a stereotype in society that men should keep quiet about being abused because they're men and should just take it ?
