Women who abuse Men.

Why is it more socially acceptable for a woman to abuse a man than it is for a man to abuse a woman.

Do you think there's a double standard that men get called misogynists when women can be just as guilty of misandry?

Even if we're not talking about physical abuse, what about the psychological abuse women can place on men? Women are good at working out what makes men tick and yet they continue to push the buttons. Is society the problem?

I know that the numbers of people when polled who state that what goes on in other peoples' homes (with regard to violence) is not their business, is as high as one in five, an appalling statistic.

i've never abused a man,nor been abused by one. have i hit a man? sure,i used to be a bartender.i've hit women too. you swing at me,i hit you,male or female. you insult me,i throw you out,end of problem.

my job was to protect myself and my customers,in a rough environment. 

as a chef,i didn't tolerate abuse either,nobody gets away with belittling me,or threatening me. ever. i've been fired for defending myself,and probably will be again,just like being fired for defending others. it's who i am. abuse isn't tolerated in my world.

I think men put up with abuse from their partners, because as men they are seen as the stronger one, and I know of many families where the husband/partner are suffering domestic violence, but dont say anything because they are a man, and they are stronger than the woman.

Domestic violence takes in verbal, emotional and physical.

The Doc asked: "What's the problem, Janet?"

The woman said: "Weeell Doctor Cameron, I dina know what to do. Every time ma hubbie comes home drunk, he threatens to slap me aroond'."

Two weeks later she came back to the doctor looking fresh and reborn.

She said: "Doctor that was brilliant! Evrae time ma hubbie came home drunk, I swished with water. I swished an' swished, and he didna touch me nae once!

Tell me Doc...wha's the secret?

How's the water do that?"

The Doctor said: "Janet hen, it's really nae big secret. The water does bugger all - it's keeping your mouth shut that does the trick..."

It's not about taking offence. I just hate the sort of stupid chain mails that are flung out there to reinforce the old false stereotypes.

It's not so funny when you see women get murdered and their partners get off because "she provoked him with her words".

Whatever.  We have had a young family member murdered - more a case of "fatal attraction", but I still have a sense of humour and don't take everything seriously.

The question shouldn't be why is it more except able as I don't believe anybody would agree that it is, the question is why is it that women can not except that it not only happens but is quite prevalent, and the abuse is more to the mental side with woman than physical but the abuse is still happening both physical and mental abuse of men
