I often wonder if the employees at these clothing shops which play really loud music might one day come back and sue their employer for workplace related hearing loss.

Seriously, I'm surprised at the levels of noise in some of thse shops. The music is often painfully loud.
I thought there were regulations about the level of industrial noise. Like workers should be issued with safety gear like ear protectors.
So what's the law relating to the noise in thse shops?
The shop assistants have to work in this ear-assaulting environment for eight hours a day.

You know you're old when you realize/remember that your grandpa died 35 years ago.

You know you are old when you remember Jean Shrimpton wearing "that dress" at the Melb Cup (1965)
and your parents' horrified gasps.

A 'silent cop' was indeed a small 30cm diameter yellow bollard with reflectors around the circumference and stood about 100mm high. They used to sit in the middle of minor intersections to indicate the turning point of vehicles prior to the introduction of 'diamond point turns' in the early '70s (from memory). 🙂
also notorious for tearing the sumps out of mini minors and dislodging lackadaisical motorcyclists. There are still a few around
the area.

....you have to ask the dentist staff to turn that blaring tv over your head off while you are being drilled into.
i asked the receptionist if she liked having the tv on all the time and she said that it's so silent when there is no radio/tv on.
i grew up in a time when you switched the tv on to see a show and afterwards you would turn it off.
no blaring noise all day round.
i can't think when there is too much noise and i have walked out of a supermarket once cos the music was so loud that even though i had a list i couldn't manage to get the stuff together.
