Re: another unarmed black man murdered

I would have thought disobedience to be a misdemeanour?

It is. But when the guy resists it becomes a felony.  No tag, minor offence. No licence, raises suspicions. Bottle of liqour under his feet...you need to step out.

And yes, he struggled with the cop. He managed to put the key in the ignition, start the car and put it in gear, with the cop trying to stop him. That is fighting a cop.

Was the cop in his right to pull his gun? That's a grey area, because for all anyone knew the guy was a wanted felon. That's how most are caught...traffic stops, and if you're not up to no good you rpoduce ID, or be ready to be arrested. There's no debating.

And how would you feel if this guy sped off and ran over a mother and her 2 kids crossing the street? Or some other heinous crime.

*Just wave to him speeding off....Cheerio mate!*

Do you mean the one with the driver who couldn't produce a licence, or any ID at all? The one where the guy mumbled and double talked? The one with the guy driving without a licence tag on his car? The one where the guy decided he had enough and struggled with the officer and decided he was just going to leave?

Yeah, my heart's breaking.

Can you enlighten us as to which of those offences carry the death penalty?

none.

tensing said he thought he was going to

get sucked under the car.

will be interesting to see what the conviction

is.

He just fell backwards when he shot the guy in the head.

if you watch the video in slow mo the officer

appeared to be lower to the ground before

the shot.  at least that's how it appears from

the bodycam perspective.

I think I know what you mean lion, but tasers can also sometimes kill people..just saying.

It seems to me society is increasingly more violent.

Re: another unarmed black man murdered

I think most of the time Cops over here get hurt is when they go to a domestic violence incident and you have a guy fueled on drink or drugs and ready to fight any one.

Think they need a Taser some times

Re: another unarmed black man murdered

I disagree with the police having tasers because I think they are much more likely to use them unnecessarily than if they have a gun.  People have been tasered for next to no reason and sometimes to an extent that can kill them and has in the past.

In certain situations then yes, they would be useful, such as dealing with drug crazed people.

Using that logic, the cop who arrested Sandra Bland should have shot her on the spot instead of arresting her. let's face it, she'd changed lanes without signalling - how would you feel if she did it again and caused an accident that killed someone?.
