art thread?

Hi folks. I've just bought a box of coloured pencils, and will be working on my first drawing soon. I'll post the completed work here. Would love people to post their art here for us to see. Doesn't matter what type of art - drawing, painting, photos/photo manipulation, cake decorating, quilting, poetry, origami, whatever. Let's have some fun and show our creativity. ๐Ÿ™‚

Re: art thread?

Hi moonlight, you can use the brushes with watercolours and acrylics..just wash them well. can use warm soapy water and try not to let any acrylics dry on the brush..

this is a mural I did for the patio..goes along two walls and is an absract of the cane, ocean around me.

Re: art thread?

Great stuff. I like the nose. Well I like all of it, but you've done well on the nose. A lot of people draw the entire nose, you've given it its shape with shading, well done.

Re: art thread?

I think you've done well too moonlight !

I'd sit it somewhere you walk by during the day and after a few days you'll see bits and pieces that you can improve on.  It's all about the light and the dark and everything inbetween lol  Bit of highlighting here, bit of darkening there and just keep looking, looking looking.

I've just about finished the one I talked about ^^up there.  acrylic underpainting then oil pastels over.  Haven't used the linseed oil over the pastels yet but will finish over the weekend and will post a pic......might post a pic before the linseed oil then an after.

enjoy the weekend everyone xx
