btw, there are other examples of govt saving money by not requiring us to do what we once did

like i no longer paste a rego sticker on my car

no problemo, until the system fails to send me my notification as i now dont have the sticker on my window i could just see every time i drove with a big number of which month it expired

so far so good (touch wood)

Not difficult to keep an eye on when your rego is due ................. wonder what the gov did with the 2 bucks they saved re you not needing to do a tax return? prob spent it on wages to process you pension each fortnight

The ATO doesn't process pensions.

Re: companies pay no tax, says ATO

Centrelink has a seperate budget. And would have been spending the money processing David's pension regardless. The ATO no longer has to process his tax return, thus they are saving money.

as a disbility pensioner i'm not asked to pay tax on my payment

and when i worked i paid weekly taxes every week

there were no boxes to tick or claims i could make to 'get out of paying'

but this thread isnt about individuals posting being 'allowed' an opinion determined by their financial position

is it?

The OP would be the person to ask about that.

I did not see any T&Cs that related to the topic.

It did not stop you from commenting on your individual situation, even if in part.

If the OP hasn't "chipped" you about it, I would not be concerned.

Your comment / belief is, others should pay more so you can pay a little less.

Having read many comments on other topics where some have often accused a company and at times individuals of greed or being greedy you are fortunate that it has happened in this case.

Similarly with many other topics where the TDSers have the uncontrollable compulsion to comment and usually do so on unrelated topics.
