Working on it ..
Only really strong winds here and a bit of rain at the moment, but we have been promised worse to come.
To all those in and around as cat has said - Take care, stay safe
and listen for all and any warnings - get battery's in for the radios in case power is lost, already had a couple of outages here and we
are not experiencing anything like way up north yet.
Thoughts to all

Brisbane is not in the path of the cyclone, but we were promised very heavy rain today and tomorrow. Only a few spots so far. Fine and overcast.

Uni starts next week, so there will be a lot of travellers from elsewhere coming to Brisbane in the next two days, so I'm sure they are a bit worried.

It was good to read your comment polksasadallie my Mum in Law lives in Brisbane and is flying down to Sydney tommorrow, I was getting a bit worried that she would have problems flying out due to the weather that has been forecast.
Fingers crossed it does not get as bad a they have said, for all those that are closer to the cyclones stay save.
That reads badly, she is coming down to see us, I am not trying to get rid of her as I like her lots

Yes, fingers crossed for your MIL. Occasionally when the rain and wind is extreme, flights are delayed, but who knows.
Brisbane residens have been told to prepare, eg by not parking in certain areas, and telling us where sandbags can be accessed, but in the main, they do that to protect thamselves because of past mistakes of not warning enough.

Similar here in the Coffs region. The Council were out this morning sand bagging local parks and other places.
I have just removed all of the drain covers so that the water will run away and not back up into the house like last time.
Every one is out cutting their grass, because we are near a National Park and we seem to get a lot of snakes just after a heavy downpour and having the grass cut makes it easier to see them when they visit, if that makes sense.

Stay safe everyone.
BOM has done an early update, Marcia is now a category 3.
