Smiley LOL.............Yes its funny, but also concerning.

I have just had this converstation with friends a few hours ago. We have seen exactly the same thing in the pre-selections for Malcolm Turnbulls vacated seat. A number of voters in the electorate where interviewed on TV last night. A common theme articulated by some was " I might vote Liberal, but not if they put up another middle aged white man in a blue tie. " What if the best candidate just happens to be " A middle aged white man in a blue tie " ???.

I,m all for encouraging more woman into politics, and I accept that sometimes there needs to be a prefferential bias in order to achieve that, but that doesnt mean that middle aged white men have to be denigrated and made to feel ashamed of their gender and age, just to pander to the leftist dogma.

Just another example of the the lefty PC crowd, choosing to victimise one group ( middle aged white men ) in order to try to adress the power imbalances of race and gender issues of the past. In trying to improve the lot of one group, they are making EXACTLY the same mistakes of discrimination and gender / age bias as past generations. The leftists progressives and militant femenists are no better than the neo nazis or white supremisists. Their actions in discriminating against middle aged white men are identical to the attitudes of these other disgraced groups.

You're exactly right.

I've been thinking the same for a while. It's as if anything that has ever been done by white people, especially white men, is automatically to be labelled as evil or racist.

I'm all for a wide range of people to get out there and join politics but what I would want to see, and I make no apologies for it, is politicians who are there to look after the best interests of everyone in their electorate and to do their best for this country as a whole.

If the best candidate is a white male, what is wrong with that?

A while ago, there was a local council election here & we received the policy statements of all the candidates. One woman stated quite clearly that her role would be to advance the interests of one particular migrant group in the community (I forget which). All of her wish list of things to do revolved around that. She went to the bottom of my voting form.
