now lets sack 1500 public servants, its not like they are real people with familys and morgages ect.
so now we have had a year and a half of liberal govt, they have raised every tax they can and are about to start sacking public servants.
but dont worry they will be hireing lots of 'spin doctors and media advidors'
in other words doing everything they said they wouldnt do.
why is it the liberal voters are not yelling about paying more tax under their govt?

Its not doctors they are hiring ( spin or otherwise ) Its teachers. Around 1500 over four years. All up an increased investment in education of 1.47 billion dollars. The Libs have also pledged in the budget to keep all front line public servents. S.A currently has the highest ratio of public servents per head of population in Australia, so if a few seat warmers in back offices go, they probably wont be missed.
It would take a pretty hypocrytical Labor voter to complain about this budget. Its more Labor than any Labor budget........
Higher taxes and charges, Major increases in spending on education, more teachers employed, a new major indiginous art centre, a new hospital to be built, major spending on infrastucture, electricity initiatives for low income earners, the announcement of new public housing and assistance to low income, first home buyers.
All up its probably pretty clever from a political point of view too. With Labor on the nose, this budget could help to gain the support of the 6 or 7% of swinging voters, some of whom may have voted Labor. Rusted on Labor voters will always vote Labor and rusted on Liberals will always vote Liberal. Its the swingers who decide elections and these initiatives by the Liberals, stealing Labors traditional turf, could see Labor in the political wilderness for quite some time to come.
