I watched one of the specials a few years ago after I saw a feature on the designer and maker of those heavy wings some of the girls had to wear.  Apparently the person who made them was Australian.

I have to say I was quite impressed with the glitsy display.  Those outfits were amazing.  I'm female and I saw nothing wrong with the show.  If models want to make their fortune wearing underwear on stage....and still manage to keep their balance also wearing heavy fake wings and stiletto heels then good luck to them. I wonder if the prevailing and all pervasive 'political correctness' has resulted in neither males nor females wanting to be seen watching the shows.  Honestly, when I think of what was on TV in the 70s.....when did we become such prudes?

"when did we become such prudes?"

I'm not sure it's just about that.

I've noticed a lot of younger people behave differently to things we regarded as sexy or naughty. I've spoken to some and they said there is so much on the internet that you can see anything you want. And some of the things they look at boggles my mind. I wonder if they are so flooded with this material that they have become satiated and numb to visual stimulation!

Maybe.

But I'm amazed at how censored good old TV seems to be these days.  Do the younger generation watch much TV anyway?

I can't say I've bothered looking at dodgy stuff on the internet so I can't comment on that.  What I will comment on is it seems to me any halfwit with a smartphone and not much else (including clothing) can set themselves up as an 'influencer'.  I can't figure out how these people's opinion matters.

At least the Victoria's Secret models look beautiful....or at the very least definitely more human. Smiley Very Happy

Personally, I think tv censorship is screwy at the moment.

It still takes me aback how some cartoons openly use the "f" word and show graphic and vulgar sexual scenes. And some of the movies on Foxtel leave absolutely nothing to the imagination. Yet I have recently seen some movies from the 50s - 70s where important scenes were censored when the scenes probably rated a 2 - 3 out of 10 for violence or sexual explicitness. However I've seen the same movies on other channels and the scenes were untouched. It's screwy.

A scene missing on one channel but not another reflects the philosophy of the owners and sponsors of one channel vs. those of another.
