You're right.    The chart came up on the .com too.

I didn't even try it.

When you'te in Greece the Google is .gr.   It doesn't matter if you type in .com or another suffix, it always converts to the .gr!

with results for Greece prioritized.

I am not familiar with 'saddle' used for meat. I haven't seen meat for sale called that. We have lamb loin chops and they are very expensive. I would think a lamb saddle roast would be top of the price range.

Google:

A saddle of lamb is a double loin roast, which combines the loin roasts from each side of the lamb. Ask your butcher for the bones from the saddle to make the sauce.

The saddle is another roasting joint and is usually done on the bone, although the loin can be boned for steaks or noisettes. It can also be cut into chops.

Someone from Australia asked Sin what it would be called in the US, or where to purchase it there.   For some reason, I was thinking beef instead of lamb.

Strangely, it has brisket as a cut on there.    Have never seen it

Beef brisket takes "forever" to cook.  It's tough.    I braise it in partial water (covered) in the oven for three hours total.  ONly adding salt, pepper, onions.  Before done remove the cover to brown.   At that time I add mushrooms which have been sauteed in butter with a little paprika.   It reheat well and makes good cold sandwiches.

Brisket is also the cut used to make corned beef.   I've only purchased it already brined, but that takes hours to cook too!  Top of the stove though.

That three hour thing.  I don't have one of those fast air ovens popular in a lot of the world and some of the US.

Sin,

I have to go. (time to help daughter)

Hope you get to talk to these nice people some more.

I'll probably be roaming around most of the night though.   The storms are REALLY bad.   Island, tent, lightning........... I'm worried of course.

Later.

Donna

Stawka - "Ah, brisket is silverside then. Now I got it

Corned brisket beef is rolled meat tied with string ( cheaper cut)

Silverside (corned) is a whole piece of meat

In NZ, anyway 🙂

I use a piece of topside roast beef to pot roast.

Back for a minute (already)

In the US, brisket is sold not brined as brisket.

When it's brined (looks pink!) it's corned beef.

We also have corned beef cold cuts (already cooked of course)

I use chuck for " pot roast " which there are many recipes for, depending on the spices preferred.

Now that I think about it though, the corned beef is also used for a kind of pot roast.  Usually with potatoes, carrots, and cabbage (especially on St. Patricks day.  🙂 )
