I am still getting the very serious and ominous recordings from Nicole. She of the aussie accent.
Nicole always starts with the foreboding news that my internet is going to be disconnected within 24 hours.
Yet here I am, folks, online as usual.
It is sort of frustrating as because it is a recording, I can't have any fun with replying.

Nicole usually asks me to press a key to get into their technical dept. I did once and asked for their ph no so i could ring them back so of course they hung up. That was when i had time on my hands. Now i just tell them to get lost, tho not so politely.

Most people have calling number/message bank display, thus if you dont recognise the number, just dont answer the ph., if it's important enough the caller will always leave a message and you can call them back, if you wish to, save a lotta time and hassle

Some of us with time on our hands like to have a bit of fun with these callers.
I have a very effective answer to the spiel about my internet being cut off....I just say "OK" and usually get asked do I want to know why? When I answer "not really" it usually sends the caller into a spin and they hang up without any harsh words being exchanged.
The scammers who want access to my computer to get rid of the nasties that are lurking there get led on to believe I am doing what they ask of me. When they finally say they cannot access the computer I just tell them that I was not born yesterday and they will never get access to my computer.
I have learned all the double talk given by the Electricity comparison sites and these days just cut them short with "I am happy with my current supplier...thank you....goodbye". I don't give them time to even get warmed up.

Guess I have far better things to do with my time, like pottering in my garden etc 🙂

Agree, but sometimes I like to have a bit of fun.
Thing is I don't have a smart phone (yep, still with the dinosaurs) so can't see who's calling which is why I usually have the answer m/c on where they just hang up but occasionally if expecting a call will answer.

I dont own any type of mobile ph and prob never will. My home ph has calling number display, so I just let it ring .... I hate talking on the ph at the best of times, so does hubs, so we rarely answer it

I wish I could potter in my garden....it would be much more fun than being stuck indoors with mobility problems.
At least taking the mickey out of the scammers keeps my mind active if not my body.

I enjoy doing it all.
I potter - I clean - I waste time - not exactly in that order.
There is something to be said about getting our own back on those ' creeps ' from these scam calls.
A certain justice - if you like.
Make my day. lol
