Do you have the new Win10?
Cos I can't find any of that.
David, I've got it figured.
Go to Google search - copy the URL
Then click on the 3 dots, but go down to More tools.
A side menu comes up with Pin to task bar.
Put in Google's URL, and it will be on your task bar at the bottom of the screen.
Isn't that what you wanted in the first place?

You do not need to Google it, there will an Icon on your desk top view, just click on the icon to open.
Or from the Windows logo in the bottom left hand corner.

That wasn't the question.
I think, David, that you need to open Chrome and set it as your default. If that's the question. If it's for default search engine, that should be in the Edge settings somewhere.

Hang on David.
I'm dowloading it now.

OK. David, don't think you can get rid of that search bar for Bing.
Your Google search is up in the address bar.
Did you untick the box for using Bing as the search engine in the set up?
I did, but still got the search bar for Bing.

i didnt tick or un-tick anything
i had an update then had to re-start my computer
then i got an oncreen message saying i had a new version of edge, yippee i didnt say
so i saw i had a new symol down at the bottom of the screen left side where the old edge was, looks like a curled up blue millipede
when i click on it the new egde opens but its got a whole new look,
the only way i can get to google is go to favorites and select it from the list.
before this update when i clicked on the link at the bottom of the page i got goole as the search enging right away
yes i know way back i had to set it as my default but cant find the option with this new one
the old one had a thing saying 'use current page as default' or something like that from memory
i just clicked it and google was there every time.

When you select a new tab, does it have a blinking cursor in the address bar?

i used my other goole chrome search thing to google how to change it
followed the steps, found the 'make abc you default search engine
selected google from the list 'it now says google (default)'
closed it down then reopend, still got the same edge page and the search bar at the top of the screen has the bing symbol

You are able to remove Edge from the task bar - it's still there but you don't need to see it.
Open Google - go to the 3 dots top right - choose settings - set Google as default - you can add it to the task bar for easy opening.

But is there a blinking cursor in the address bar - not the search bar with the B on it
The blinking cursor on the address bar is your Google search.
