Have been a 20 pack a day smoker
For nearly 40 years and stopped cold turkey
On Monday
So have made it 4 days without a smoke
Feel like I am going crazy
And don't want to go near a shop for a while
Until I feel safe to avoid the impulse to buy
A packet
Not easy that's for sure

Hi Nics, thanks (())
Well, day 3 back on the wagon.....I still can't believe how I'm not having cravings etc. the book is a miracle lol
I know I stuffed up but I think it was because I'd only stopped for such a short time and smoking was a real crutch for stress.....it didn't help anyway ! hahaaa
How is everything going for you Opmania ? I bet you're feeling so much better by now ?
Has anyone else been inspired to give the cigs the flick ?

Congratulations Soul.
Glad to see you've joined the ranks of non-smokers
No cravings sounds good. That book must be dynamite.
Keep up the good work and keep visiting for encouragement

dHi Opmania, yep the book really has worked for me. This is the latest version and also goes into alchohol and drugs, I'm now reading that part. I don't drink much at all but find what is written fascinating.....turns everything about addiction on its head.
If you every come across the book in an op shop, buy it. I'm sure it would help anyone who feels they have given up something they enjoy and who think they'll be forever fighting the occasional craving.
In the past, I've even gone through old butts to get enough tobacco to make a ciggy......just about torn the house apart looking for a smoke.....I believed all the bs I'd heard about how nicotine was harder to give up than herion........well, I'm living proof that you can quitt smoking without going through hell.....and without using willpower.....the only thing I find myself doing is reaching for where my tobacco pouch would normally be.....and then I think......WOO HOOO I don't need to smoke anymore !

Hi stawka, slow typing again !
there's no willpower needed.......I think the book counter brainwashers you. The brain is an amzing thing. He has also written one about weight, and one about flying, think they all use the same principal.

Did you smoke tailor made cigs Opmania ? If so, you would be saving a fortune !
Is there anything you'd like to save for ?

My sister gave up smoking 3 months ago. She smoked 40 odd a day!!
She lives with her daughter and adult grandaughter. They were always
on her case to give it up.
She didn't mention it, to see how long it would take them to notice.
She went stark raving mad waiting for a reaction
A month later she told them in no uncertain terms
She's still not smoking, so that's good
