"Men are idiots"

Re: "Men are idiots"

Partly blamed on the evolutionary make up of humans and the testosterone in males. Going into adolescence both male and female brains start losing all "old/useless" information as it reconstructs itself that also gives them a lower risk threshold, so they take on activities they never would have as a child or adult. A sense of bravado you can see in animals as well lol. Women are more weary but also take risks around these ages too but it's hard wired into the brains of young men to seek out danger almost lol

Not at the schools I happen to be outside in the last few years, one lower grade, one senior.

Christ, they don't even play contact sports, that used to account for hundreds of scabs, a couple of black eyes,

dislocated joints each month and the odd broken bone every term.

Re: "Men are idiots"

Ok, the article says men are idiots because they, do  or possibilly many of them do crazy stunts. All in good nature fun. I'm sure some women do similar stunts, in my opinion, more should. But that doesn't mean they, men or women are idiots, because they take risks in the name of fun and entertainment.

Look at how many people, men, and women who smoke, not only does that make them a danger to themselves, but others as well. that is a far more relivant example of stupidity in humanity. and todays modern culture who accept, endorse, and encourage smoking. Those who don't smoke or don't like being around it, are discraminated against.

smokers are idiots both the male, and females.

.

Fun Factor : Now you have a choice in chat, factor that

Maybe they have just learned to be more aware of safety?

Re: "Men are idiots"

Being aware of safety and wrapping kids up are two different things.

The whole world knows that kids are wrapped in cotton wool compared to even 20 years ago.

Can't do this, can't do that.

That says even more about the women who marry them.

Then Darwin's theory of evolution kicks in, although the problem now is the huggy fluffies have wrapped

all the kids up in cotton wool and their is far less chance that the percentage will die before adulthood

that would normally be the case.

You hardly see any kids now with scratches, scabs and bruizes, let alone broken bones.

What utter rubbish.

In 2005–2006, 22,865 children 0–4 years of age were admitted to hospital for injury across Australia. This was second only to admissions to hospital for respiratory conditions. Hospital isolation rates were higher for boys than girls. Hospitalisation rates for falls and poisonings were higher for children living in rural and remote communities, compared to children living in metropolitan areas (1.5 times greater for falls and 1.9 times greater for poisoning)
(AIHW 2008)

More children die from injury in Australia (36%), than from cancer (19%) and diseases of the nervous system combined (11%) (ABS 2006)

The annual cost of unintentional injury and death to children 0–4 years of age in Australia is estimated to be 1.5 billion dollars (Moller 1998).

Mortality and Morbidity: Children's Accidents and Injuries

The number of injury deaths of children aged 1-14 years declined over the past two decades, from 553 deaths in 1983 to 231 in 2003.

Children are much less likely to have long-term health conditions than adults, and infant and child death rates are generally declining and are at their lowest in a century. In 2003, 20% of the Australian population was aged 0-14 years (around 4 million children), while child deaths accounted for 1.3% of all deaths registered in that year (see Australian Social Trends, 2002, Infant mortality). But this does not fully reflect the range of issues affecting children's health. High rates of preventable injuries among children relative to other age groups are of concern to health professionals, the community and governments. In 2004, the Australian government identified children aged 0-14 as a priority injury issue. (endnote 1)

You have lead a very sheltered life if you don't know what a Darwin award is.

Any robust group of males (and females) will mention it at some point when they read an article

where some bloke has topped himself doing something stupid.

"No sympathy" is generally included somewhere in the sentence.

Now, as to the question, "Men are idiots" and most Darwin awards are won by men, even evolution shows that is correct

because the unmanipulated birth rate of males to females is slightly higher for males than females. This is to take into

account the higher death rate of males up to man hood.

Well, something along those lines.

I JUST CHECKED

At birth, the ratio is 107 boys to 100 girls.

I don't think there is even a competition.

Welcome back Vic.

Good to see you.
