We need more understanding. Religious people are merely victims of brain-washing and indoctrination. Challenge the idea/doctrine not the people.
Discuss.

Do you celebrate Christmas?
If Yes, please tell me why.

Ofcourse, I love Christmas, It's a day off from work. Good time to catch up with family, friends and feast. Good enough reason for you?
Why do you celebrate Christmas?
Because I am one of those who had been brainwashed as a child. I can now think for myself, but the fun of Christmas and Easter I can not resist.
Erica
It is not about being brainwashed.2000 years ago people were happy to give up their lives rather than deny Jesus.WHY?Because they saw Him die and resurrect.People like Bob are ignorant and cannot see the destruction coming to the earth. He will see the truth when it is too late.He baits people but notice he ran like a rabbit when asked for proof.

Lion, I don't deny that Jesus Christ lived. It has been archaelogical proven.
What I don't believe is that the Bible is entirely the word of God.
It's a book full of contradictions, and I don't want to go into the nasty parts of it.
BTW, Jesus was not born on the 25th December.

There are many TRANSLATIONAL errors but in the original languages there is none.NOT ONE!By nasty bits if you mean God killing kids, there was a reson for that.I know december 25th is not correct date. That is irrelevant though.

I agree with you, I can't resists either. That's why we also make up Santa, the Easter Bunny and the tooth fairy. Do you think other religious people like those who fly planes into buildings or kill abortion doctors can think for themselves?
Still running I see. When will you provide the proof I asked for.You are not a very nice person. You belittle peoples faith and then run.You are happy to call them "fairy tales" but when shown proof you squirm.Tell me how the scientific facts got in the Bible?Explain the things in there that could not have come without supernatural knowledge. And show me the fossil evience proving evolution.

This time of year was always celebrated, it used to be the winter solstice pagan ritual though. The church thought it would be good idea to convert it to something else, and hope the peasants soon forget the pagan practices. The tree and gifts are much more recent inventions.
