I don’t want this post of mine to be interpreted as support for one side or the other, just my observation of the ‘space invader’ moment.
ScoMo was talking about Bill’s visit to a Gladstone worksite where a worker in high viz asked him about how his work colleagues who worked overtime and earn $250,000+ would fare under Labor tax policies. Bill said “we’re going to look at that” which ScomMo saw as giving no answer of substance i.e. Bill couldn’t look him in the eye and tell him the truth.
So, in a bit of theatre, ScoMo tried to recreate the moment where the worker moved close to Bill, close enough to shake his hand, to ask him about tax. ScoMo was close to Bill and invited him to look him in the eye and tell him what he’d do, to tell him the truth. If you look at the moments immediately before that moment you will see what I mean.
I didn’t see it as an aggressive act by ScoMo, and despite the media coverage of that moment I still don’t. It was just a bit of theatre.

you call it theater i call it a cheap stunt.
are we going to have to put them into boxes so they cant get at each other?
scomo is just a very poor version of a clown, he isnt funny.
he tries to do funny stunts (holding up coal in parliment, wasnt that a hoot?')
but they look nasty in action.
i do admit hes funnier than mr abbot, and more blokey than tunbull.

Whatever the reason, Morrison invaded Shorten's personal space. Shorten felt uncomfortable, made the comment then walked to a comfortable place.
Morrison has consistently attempted to enter Shorten's space during the debates, talked down to him and acted as if he believes he is superior. Shorten has been evasive in his comments, especially about funding and the economy, and has looked awkward at times.
Recent public opinion suggests many people think Morrison is arrogant and Shorten is untrustworthy. Their behaviour during the debates suggests there may be something to these views IMO. One thing constantly on my mind is that neither have any obligation whatsoever to keep the promises they are making. As far as I am concerned it is all theatre and rhetoric.
