Hi I am expecting and have had severe insomnia and sleep issues since about six or more weeks back.I've had to resort to some drugs and am worried...
does anybody know of any natural things that I can take or any other ideas.I initially fall asleep but wake 15 or 20 mins later and lie awake for age therafter.I live in Brisbane and don't know where to go to get help.I'v e been given a cd of "mindfulness" exercises but they never work:( by some psychologist who say to just say get over it....
does anybody know of somebody good in the Brisbane area who can help with sleep issues..either a clinic or a doctor who has gotten results

What does your doctor say?

Did a Dr prescribe the drugs for you?

Is having a baby the cause of your stress?

I think its part of the problem.but I've had a relapse in depression. so that's why they have given me some meds but I can't stay on them through the third tri.....doctors just putting crap bandaids on everything and I need a real solution.what do I do in 3rd tri when I can't take anything?? I know this is probably not the forum for this but I'm desperate....I can't go to sleep naturally...my body has forgotten how to.

It is during the 1st trimester that you have to be extra careful, but while I don't know a lot about what you might be taking, I would not take anything if it was me. Perhaps get a second opinion?
Don't resort to a HWB or an electiric blanket.

bugger... if you don't find a solution the chances of major PND is huge... ((HUGS))
I wish I had the solution but I don't.. I had the exact same thing when I was pregnant.
I did find this...

Chances are it is your depression that is now keeping you awake... last year I had hypnotherapy for bad sleep and it worked wonders... maybe that is something you can also look at.

I picked this site at random. Google, there are a lot of sites, and you might find something that might help.
Do you have other babies to look after, or can you get some sleep during the day.

Please never say this to anyone..... the OP has mentioned that she has had a relapse of depression and I can tell you from personal experience that living with depression while pregnant is one of the hardest times in my life...
The doctors would not be prescribing relevant medication unless it is 100% needed...
Saying that sort of thing can make a person that is depressed and pregnant stop taking the doctor prescribe medication and make the situation so much worse...
