there was a bit of commotion coming from the self serve area, so i went and had a look.
a lady I guess mid 40's had come in for some milk. only 2 checkouts were open with long ques and not 1 express lane.
she went and grabbed about 50 choppa chumps and went through and started scanning all her lollipops.
but she was putting each one in a individual bag.
the attendant saw this and questioned what she was doing she replied" oh sorry i haven't been trained"
by the time I had arrived the store manager was involved.
i thought it was halitious, one womans protest

The manager of the store can have her banned, It's called trespassing someone from the store property. I have been through this myself, They don't even need to give a reason for the ban.
that's really tough. thankfully we have anti-
discrimination laws in australia.
@ the op - would have loved to have
seen it lol.

K-Mart aren't in my favourite books either for that reason you mentioned re self serve
AND
No mirrors near the clothing or shoe sections to see how things look against you. None. Have to travel to the rear of the store and take a peek in the mirrors there.
Not me. DD went to the section that sells mirrors and brought one back to the garment section. And we left it there.

It might have been easier to go to the service desk and ask them to open up another lane.

Yes. WW really pish me off ref the 'self serve' checkouts.
I ALWAYS make a point after a big shop.....to find the LONGEST queue at a manned checkout. Then wait for the inevitable approach by (usually) the WW operator in-charge of the self-serve to ask me to go thru there. I ALWAYS say in a loud voice back....
'No thank you, I support jobs for Australians before unfair profits for greedy corporations'
then the flustered operator usually organises another manned checkout to be opened and a few of us get to be put through. Often a customer will start a convo with me and state similar opinion.
I NEVER USE THE SELF-SERVE....AND HAVE NO PROB REFUSING TO USE

If a store or mall management bans a person(s) from entry to their premises (and they do) because they have been caught shoplifting or behaving in an anti-social manner that has nothing to do with discrimination laws.

I like the self serve checkouts. In our Woolies before self serve checkouts were introduced, we used to have heaps of staffed checkouts, with only a couple open in very busy times (tourist town) and long queues.
Now the store has been renovated, they have increased the number of self-checkouts and there isn't the long queues anymore and it is much easier to get in and out of there in a shorter time.
